How do I know if I need to change the regulator on my alternator?

There are several ways to determine if your vehicle's alternator governor is defective:

             The battery charge indicator light on your dashboard is on.
             A voltage test using a voltmeter to detect the voltage. It should be between 12.8 and 13.6 V.
